PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Garden Reach was established in July, 1988. This is a civil vidyalaya affiliated to CBSE Delhi. The vidyalaya is situated opposite South Eastern Railway Headquarters in the South Railway Colony. Earlier it was known as the Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR). The nearest railway station is Howrah junction which is 8 kilometres kilometres away from the vidyalaya. The nearest bus stand is the BNR bus stand which is just outside the South Railway Colony.
The lush green campus sprawls over 1.89 acres of land. At the entrance of the school, there is a beautiful garden filled with beautiful scented flowers and medicinal plants. The vidyalaya has a playground with huge green trees which provide shade throughout the year. There is a basketball and volleyball court for the students and a Children park as well.
This vidyalaya has its own three storey building.
PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Garden Reach is a three section school consisting of classes from Balvatika III to XII arts, commerce and science. The vidyalaya attempts to promote critical and creative thinking and enhance the 21st century skills among the students for their holistic development.
